I am proud to be an American, and I am committed to giving back to the community that has made me who I am today. I want to bring the knowledge, skills, and abilities that I have developed for many years to the State Capitol to work on innovative solutions to address the needs of District 67B.

I am a political science professor at St. Cloud State University and have engaged in politics, dating back to Harding High School where I was elected the president of the Hmong-American Student Organization.

I hold a PhD in Political Science at Northern Illinois University. I taught for two years in the Department of Political Science at the University of Wisconsin—Stevens Point. In 2008, to be closer with my family in St. Paul’s Eastside, I transitioned to teach in the Department of Political Science at St. Cloud State University, where I have commuted.

Having been a resident of St. Paul’s Eastside for years, I understand the daily needs of my community.  I am passionate about better schools, affordable healthcare, safe streets and neighborhoods, small business development, and affordable housing.

I am married to Maisee Lor, a family medicine physician, and we have a 2-year-old daughter, Elysa Yang. I serve on several community organizations, and I am a co-advisor of the Hmong Student Organization at St. Cloud State University.

With my longstanding civic engagement and community involvements, I have the passion and commitment to bring positive changes to District 67B. As such, I need your support.
